January 26

This Week:

  • Students presented their French Country Projects. I was very impressed by the quality of work! Congratulations!
  • We continued to work with circles in math - learning how to calculate area and circumference, solving word problems, and drawing mandalas to show symmetry.
  • We read two Pourquoi Tales in English: Why Elephants Have Trunks and Why Rabbits Have Short Tails.
  • We created maps of Ancient Mesopotamia.
  • We reviewed vocabulary about mixtures and pure substances in Science.
  • A Ski Trip form was sent home. If you want to come skiing, you must return the form by Wednesday.
Next Week:

  • Students will re-tell one of the Pourquoi Tales we read, giving a different explanation of the title.
  • We will complete a lab to classify items as pure substances or mixtures.
  • We will learn more about the geography and economy of Mesopotamia.
  • We will review the verb ĂȘtre in French.
  • On Wednesday, there will be a parent meeting at 7:00pm for all parents of students who wish to go on the ski trip.
