January 19

This Week:

  • We learned how to calculate the area and perimeter of triangles.
  • We discussed myths that teach moral lessons and that explain natural phenomena.
  • We continued to work on our French Country Projects.
  • We learned more about the characteristics of pure substances and mixtures.
  • We read a "Historical Snapshot" of Ancient Mesopotamia, and discussed how their society is similar to ours.
  • Third term exploratories started on Thursday!

Next Week:

  • We will look at the area and circumference of circles.
  • We will review vocabulary for Mixtures and Pure Substances and complete a lab to classify some examples of each.
  • We will look closer at the geography of Ancient Mesopotamia.
  • We will present our Francophone Countries Projects.
  • We will read two Pourquoi Tales (myths that explain why things are the way they are).
  • On Thursday, there will be a food truck here all day.
  • Thursday is also "Find Your Fit." There will be demonstrations and hands-on activities on different careers in trades for students throughout the day and after school from 3-7. Students are encouraged to come back after school with their parents to see if a career in the trades might be a good fit for them.
